SICILY. Nakone. Circa 420-400 BC. Tetras or Trionkion (Bronze, 18 mm, 3.29 g, 7 h). Youthful Dionysos riding side-saddle on donkey walking to left, holding kantharos in his right hand and thyrsos in his left; around, three pellets (mark of value). Rev. NAKONAI-ON Head of a nymph to right, her hair bound in a fillet, wearing single pendant earring and necklace. CNS I, 1. HGC 2, 956. SNG ANS 512. SNG München 748-9. Rare and of fine style. Struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
